Products & Technology We have designed the first hiking boot for nature photographers, birders, field biologists, and explorers - those who not only hike miles and for days, but also need to crouch, bend, and kneel (referred to as Genuflection) to get up close with their subjects and natural environment. Genuflection is a position in which one knee is placed on the ground while the opposite foot remains planted in front of the body, putting sustained pressure through the forefoot. Bonolok’s proprietary GenuflexTech™ system has been developed to support Genuflecting (crouching, kneeling and low ground positions). The tech uses stiff carbon plate, dual density foams, and a unique rocker angle to redistribute pressure across the entire foot during prolonged crouching or kneeling, providing comfort and stability.

    Dual-density foam core perfectly balances plush impact absorption with firm, structured support. A softer compound directly cushions your landing, while a high-rebound, denser foam rim prevents rolling and keeps your foot stabilized over technical ground.

    Embedded within the sole unit is a non-bendable carbon fiber plate designed to maximize forefoot torsional stability. It acts as a mechanical rigid base, reducing foot fatigue on long days while delivering a propelled transition through every single stride.

    A unique angle provides a sit-bed that makes Genuflection (crouching, kneeling, low-ground positions) comfortable.

Rigorously Tested Bonolok M01 was created for people who spend long days outdoors - whether hiking remote trails, documenting wildlife, conducting field research, or simply exploring the natural world. We've taken a deliberate and disciplined approach to bringing M01 to life, including extensive lab testing for bio mechanics and wear & tear, as well as field testing by our brand ambassadors and expert users on a wide variety of terrain and conditions.

The Bonolok M01 celebrates the Western Monarch Butterfly—whose population has declined by over 95% - featuring design details inspired by its iconic patterns. Beyond design, we actively support pollinator protection by financially contributing to the "Xerces Society for Invertebrate" Conservation and working alongside their West Coast biologists. Through our social channels, we share field insights to educate our community and inspire actionable steps to protect native ecosystems.
